ROPE FRAME CAGE TO TAKE THE PLACE OF FISHPEN
Mayor Benjamin S. Lim of Dagupan City is inclined to adopt the rope frame cage technology to take the place of fishpens after discussing with Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Region 1 Director Nestor D. Domenden recently aabout environment-friendly fish structures suited for the rivers here. Domenden, in his media presentation, recommended to Lim the rope frame cage technology as a replacement to the fishpen, which causes siltation in the river. “Ito po yung bagong modification ng materyales na ginagamit sa paggawa ng fish cage. Hindi katulad ng bakal at high density pvc pipe na kung na-expose sa malalaking alon ay napuputol at napipilipit,” said Domenden.
